This is a very good point. Why do we need to seperate ourselves based off of color or ethnicity? When I see someone I don't think "wow! that person is black" they're just another person right? I'm not saying don't be proud of who you are, but why let skin color be what defines you? It is what you do as an individual that makes you special. How you contribute to your community. I would say it's very hard to define what an American is when people are so hung up on what makes us different instead of what makes us similar.
