How can Obama not be re-elected if there is not a strong enough challenger?

I would like to see Tim Pawlenty be the next president but that will never happen. So how do people think Obama will not be re-elected if he doesn't have much of a challenge? I don't see any Republican candidates being able to get more electoral votes than him.
