Is it hard for a Chinese-speaker to learn Thai?

I'm a Malaysian and speak mostly Mandarin,Hakka and Cantonese and I know it depends on your native language to figure out whether a certain language is hard to learn or not.So I wonder if learning Thai would be hard?I've been to Thailand a couple of times and wished I could speak the language and read the writing.
